A veteran of the New Orleans music scene for the last twenty years, Sam Price grew up in Slidell, Louisiana. He studied at the famous New Orleans jazz program and has played modern Jazz, rock, funk, Latin, blues and bluegrass in the various clubs and festivals of ‘Nawlins. For the past four years, Sam was the bandleader of “Otra”, his own afro-cuban jazz group that has performed at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage festival for the last three years. Other bands and artists in Sam’s past include John Boutte and Uptown Okra, New World Funk Ensemble, Fredy Omar con su Banda, Irene Sage Band, Smilin' Myron, Denise Marie, Mike Hood, and Coco Robichoux. Sam moved to the Bay Area in October 2005 after hurricane Katrina.
